A note from the founder

Jean A. Dorcelien

As my parents continue to teach me, a life of service is as much a gift to the person who serves as it is to those who he is serving. And for me there is no higher honor than to serve individuals achieve their ultimate goal.

God, my family, and friends deserve much of the credit that led me here. My father has left Cazale, Haiti in the early 1900s and hoping to make a better life in America. He settle in South Florida eventually set his mind up to get us in the United States. There my father who worked at minimum wage manage to get us in the United State of America.

He always impressing upon me the importance of hard work and fare dealing. There, my mother who not only agrees with my father, but also adds that service to the community is a responsibility above all others.

It was the sense of responsibility to serve others, instill by my parents that led me to believe that service is the true way to help humanity. There, one of the first community engagements was to perform for the least fortunate individuals. One of the most rewarding moments in my life was when I see beautiful smiles, hope, and help restore a sense of importance in the lives of the ones society put aside. Years later, when I went to volunteer as Guardian Ad Litem, I saw up close devastation that can happen to our families if we do not get involved. I did. Once again, I saw the importance of assuring victims and families we, collectively, can help making this world a better place to live in. I promised I would do my best to reunify families-provide that is it in the best interest for all involved. Before moving onto the next mission, other colleagues and I helped placing two families within two years with their loved ones.

It is in the same spirit of service I chose one of mother Teresa's prayers as my guiding principle, which states:

"The fruit of silence is prayer, the fruit of prayer is faith, the fruit of faith is love, the fruit of love is service, and the fruit of service is peace."

The spirit of service and a passion to serve others have been the cornerstone of my professional life. This is why this statement is engraved on my mind: an abundance love of people and ability to serve humanity. It is a privilege to have the opportunity to serve other and I am grateful beyond words.
